This course aims to equip teachers participating in Erasmus+ with the knowledge and skills to understand, appreciate, and promote the preservation of cultural heritage. Participants will explore various aspects of heritage, including its significance, the challenges it faces, and strategies for effective preservation. The course emphasises practical approaches that can be integrated into educational practices.
Objectives:
- Understand the concepts and significance of cultural heritage.
- Explore the challenges faced in preserving heritage.
- Learn strategies for promoting heritage education in the classroom.
- Develop practical activities to engage students in heritage preservation.
Course Modules:
- Module 1: Introduction to Cultural Heritage. Overview of cultural heritage concepts (tangible and intangible). Discussion on the importance of heritage in society.
- Module 2: Challenges to Heritage Preservation. Exploration of threats to cultural heritage (urbanisation, climate change, etc.).
- Module 3: Promoting Heritage Education. Strategies for integrating heritage topics into the curriculum.
- Module 4: Practical Preservation Techniques. Overview of methods for preserving cultural heritage.
- Module 5: Engaging Students in Heritage Preservation. Creating projects and activities that involve students in preservation efforts.

Important information for all courses
Schedule: Lessons take place either in the morning or in the afternoon depending on the trainers’ availability. The final schedule will be provided no later than 2 weeks prior to the participants’ arrival. The course provider may make minor last minute changes to the schedule and content if the situation requires it.
Equipment: Participants may be required to bring their own laptop or a tablet, depending on the course.
Course Fee: 400 € per participant for a 5-day course. Accommodation is not included with the fee, however, we are happy to provide recommendations and support you finding hotels, B&Bs, and local properties.
Certificate: Participants must attend at least 80 % of the lessons to obtain the Certificate of Attendance at the end of the course.
Cultural activities: A guided walking tour is a part of each course.
Cancellation Policy: If the participant cancels the course more than 30 days before the course starts, all fees will be refunded.
If the participant cancels the course between 30 and 7 days before the course starts, they will be refunded in the form of a voucher to be used for future courses.
The course is non-refundable If the participant cancels 7 days before the course start date.
This course requires a minimum of four participants. In the unlikely event of not reaching four participants, do not worry, you will have the chance to join an alternative course on the exact same dates.
