This course introduces teachers participating in Erasmus+ to the principles and practices of gamification in education. Participants will explore how game design elements can be integrated into the learning process to enhance student engagement, motivation, and achievement. The course emphasises practical strategies and tools for applying gamification in various educational contexts.
Objectives:
- Understand the concept of gamification and its benefits for learning.
- Learn to design gamified learning experiences.
- Explore tools and technologies that facilitate gamification.
- Develop skills to assess the effectiveness of gamified activities.
Course Modules:
- Module 1: Introduction to Gamification. Overview of gamification concepts and terminology. Discussion of the psychological principles behind gamification and learning.
- Module 2: Designing Gamified Learning Experiences. Strategies for incorporating game elements into lesson plans (e.g., points, badges, leaderboards).
- Module 3: Tools for Gamification. Exploration of various tools and platforms for gamification (e.g., Kahoot!, Classcraft, Quizizz).
- Module 4: Implementing Gamification in the Classroom. Techniques for smoothly integrating gamification into existing curricula.
- Module 5: Assessing Gamified Learning. Methods for evaluating the effectiveness of gamified activities.

Important information for all courses
Schedule: Lessons take place either in the morning or in the afternoon depending on the trainers’ availability. The final schedule will be provided no later than 2 weeks prior to the participants’ arrival. The course provider may make minor last minute changes to the schedule and content if the situation requires it.
Equipment: Participants may be required to bring their own laptop or a tablet, depending on the course.
Course Fee: 400 € per participant for a 5-day course. Accommodation is not included with the fee, however, we are happy to provide recommendations and support you finding hotels, B&Bs, and local properties.
Certificate: Participants must attend at least 80 % of the lessons to obtain the Certificate of Attendance at the end of the course.
Cultural activities: A guided walking tour is a part of each course.
Cancellation Policy: If the participant cancels the course more than 30 days before the course starts, all fees will be refunded.
If the participant cancels the course between 30 and 7 days before the course starts, they will be refunded in the form of a voucher to be used for future courses.
The course is non-refundable If the participant cancels 7 days before the course start date.
This course requires a minimum of four participants. In the unlikely event of not reaching four participants, do not worry, you will have the chance to join an alternative course on the exact same dates.
